# License Activation

Before you can use NIO, you first need to activate your license. The License Activation Wizard will launch automatically when starting the application and guide you through the activation procedure.

A license can be activated Online or Offline:

# Online Activation

If your computer is connected to the internet, online activation is the easiest and fastest way to activate your license. The license wizard will communicate with the Paramethod licensing server to verify the inputted license key and activate your license almost instantly.
