# Restore a Manual Backup

Restoring a manual backup of the NIO database can be done with the following steps:

1. Exit NIO.
2. Open Windows Explorer and access this folder:
   %UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Paramethod\NIO\
3. Rename the existing Paramethod.NIO.db3 file to old-Paramethod.NIO.db3 (this is a precaution in case the restoration doesn't work)
4. Copy the backup of the Paramethod.NIO.db3 file you wish to restore in the folder.
5. Launch NIO.
