Nests
In
The Nest is the result of a nesting operation.

Nests Module
From the Nests module, you can create reports, edit and delete nests.
The Nests module can be accessed from the View tab and the Modules drop down.

Open | Opens the detail view of the selected nest. This is the equivalent of double-clicking a row in the list view. |

Delete | Deletes the selected nest. |

Export CAD File | Exports the selected nest CAD file. For more information see this article. |

Email PDF Report | Generates a PDF report of the selected nests and attaches it to a new email. |
 |
Export PDF Report | Generates and saves a PDF report of the selected nests. |
 |
Preview | Generate and preview a report of the selected nests. Print or export to popular formats from the report viewer. |

Nests List View
Double-click to open the nest you wish to view or edit.

Nest Detail View
View or Edit a nest.

ID | The unique identifier of the nest. |
|
Description | Optional additional information to describe this nest. |
|
Quantity | The number of times this nest must be produced to fulfill the ordered quantities. This typically corresponds to the number of setups required to produce an order. |

Job | The nest job that initiated the nesting operation. |
|
Material | The sheet of material this nest is on. |
|
Utilization | The percentage of the initial material that is transformed into parts and into a reusable remnant. |
 |
Waste | The percentage of the initial material that goes to waste. Includes the sheet margins, the part holes and material between parts. |
 |
Overall Length | The overall length of the material. The maximum X value minus the minimum X value. |
 |
Overall Width | The overall width of the material. The maximum Y value minus the minimum Y value. |
 |
Parts Area | The sum of the areas of all the parts on this nest. |
 |
Parts Perimeter | The sum of the outer profiles and holes lengths of all the parts on this nest. |
 |
Margins Area | The sum of the areas of all the margins of this nest. |
 |
Graph | A Top-N by area showing the most significant parts and source of waste on that nest. You can hover with your mouse on the graph to get the area of individual sections. |

Part List | The list of parts placed on this nest. Click to highlight on the CAD preview. |
 |
CAD | A preview of the nest CAD file. Use the export CAD file action to open the nest in your preferred CAD/CAM package. |
